PC crash ... need to reset Poser Interface ... Help please.
-
@Boni I believe you have to move the poser.ini file out of that folder (I'd stick it on the desktop) and then boot Poser and it should make a new file for you.
-
Just to clarify. I move the .ini file to a separate location ... and when I start Poser next time, it will make a new .ini file. Then I can delete the one I moved ... is this correct, before I continue?

@Boni Yes

@ghostship & @seachnasaigh Thank you so very much. This Poser community is amazing.

@Boni Welcome!

Alas, it didn't work ... I also found in the same AppData>Roaming>Poser Pro> folder ... if it's the right user folder ... I have several from PC "repairs": 11, 11 backup1, 11 backup2, 11_2015_10_02 5_00_29 AM and 8 more like the last one dating up to Jan. 29 of this year. Plus a zip file of a previous Poser 11 file when this happened last time. Let me check if I have this somewhere else, since PP11 is installed on an external drive.
Ok, that is the only place on my system where these files reside. I'm at a loss ... and can't use Poser. I don't want to re-install Poser if I don't have to ... so is there another solution?
-
Wait, not sure if this is relevant, but the last dated "roaming" file was Jan of 2016, NOT this year. I know when troubleshooting, little details can make a difference.

Oddly there are 2 places in the preferences where you need to select launch in factory settings! I have my Poser back!!! thank you!

@Boni Once you have your "rooms" back the way you want them I would suggest creating a UI memory dot for each room. That way the next time Poser decides you want to work with a 2 inch high preview and no room tools, all you have to do is go to each room, click the memory dots under the windows menu and click the dot you saved. That's what I do as whilst testing python there's a good chance Poser will decide to crash and screw up all the rooms

I use those dots. I have UI dots set for each room, with the preview window (document window) in different aspect ratios, such as small square preview, large square, small 10:6, large 10:6

Wow, what great suggestions. Something I should already know after all these years (almost 20 now) of using Poser!!

@Boni You are never too old to learn (my boss keeps telling me that, my problem these days is remembering what I've learnt :o)
