Does anyone use Quixel?
I've been looking at Quixel. My questions if you use it are:
Do you like it?
Can I do textures for V4 characters etc?
Does it bake the textures in Quixel or do I have to bake the textures in a modeling program.
Any advice or tips.
Basically I just want to do texturing and make materials with it.
I use it and I like it alot. Never used it on a character though. So far only hard surface stuff and clothing.
Yes one can bake in Quixel.
I use it for interiors and props.
Not sure if it works on characters.
You need Photoshop it generates layered psd files as output.
Thanks for the info. I did purchase it as I have Photoshop. Now for the joy of the learning curve.
I believe geometry has to be triangulated first to work in Quixel. Do you know if that Is that correct?
I guess I can take V4 into ZBrush and run her through decimator for the triangulation.
Hopefully that will work.
Ghostship, Do you triangulate your geometry first?
I didn't triangulate.
Keep an eye on inverted polygons, that will mess up the AO.
You can use Zbrush to make your color ID's.
Make your ID map from your highest subD level.
Grd colorize off.
Thanks so much for your info.
No need to triangulate in version 2. We needed to do that in v1. Now Quixel does it on import. ;)
The key though for best outputs is to have an ID map for it to work with. LOTS of tutorials at you tube.
