Transfer only dialed morphs from character to cloth

  • Hello,

Is there an existing tool (or script) somewhere that will only display the dialed morphs before injecting them to cloth ?

    Ty.

  • @barnardino I can't see a way to do that on a per morph basis. Even using a poser.ProcessCommand(1742) or poser.ProcessCommand(1739) will still be calling the menu version of "Copy Morphs from Figure..." where you have to manually select individual morphs or all of them to be copied from the source figure. I can't see anything in the Poser Python UI which will do what you want. I think the manual says it's a Poser Pro feature only.

There is a python actor method called ZeroMorphs() which can return a list of which morphs have zero dial settings, so they could be ignored, but without being able to use the built-in copy morph from figure on a per-morph basis, you'd have to re-invent that functionality, and I'm pretty sure it will be complex.

    Sorry.

Ok thanks you checked this :)

there is interesting transfer morph script there :

    http://www.morphography.uk.vu/~cagepage/TDMT_Match/old_tutorials/transfer/transfer_tutorial.html
    http://www.morphography.uk.vu/~cagepage/TDMT_Match/old_tutorials/transfer/shape_tutorial.html

But, it's not totally automatised since you need first to compare the 2 meshes manually to get a match vertex file (.vmf).

Well, at least it's for reference.

Last chance, it should be possible to remove all zeroed morphs from the character, save to cr2, undo, load cr2, copy morph to cloth ... ?

    Ty.

ockham has some scripts to clean unused dials and remove zero'd morphs from the cr2's - not the 'display only dialed morphs' script you were after but it's not one I recall seeing.

Look for the scripts Dial cleaners, Strip zero morphs and Zero morphs at ockhams site.

  • Hi Again

I have to update my last reply.

There is a script that you can use to hide unused morph dials for transferring morphs to clothing.

    Snarlygribbly's Scene Fixer.

First, on the Figures Parameters panel make sure you have Show Hidden Parameters Unticked (or this won't work)

    Load the Scene Fixer script.
    Go to Dials.
Select all the dials that you DON'T want to hide.
Then click on the second button under (highlight the controls that you want to be visible, and deselect those you don't) that says Apply changes.
Select the head and body parts in the preview window if you want to hide expression and other non important morphs to clear up the transfer window.
Close the script or move it out of the way.

Select the clothing you want to transfer the morphs to and the figure from as normal and the morphs that you hide won't show up.

    Hope that helps.
