How to create clouds?
Is there a procedural way to make some clouds?
Texture map them on a sphere or something?
How's Poser 11's volumetric textures? Would that work?
Real 3 dimensional clouds you probably would need something like point clouds (like openvdb).
I think blender supports that now, but not Poser (at least not yet).
I use octane with Poser and it is supported in that render engine. They look pretty good.
Here a test i did in Octane.
@krios There is a tutorial from Blender Guru on making clouds. I you could make the cloud shapes in Blender and import and texture them in Poser.
@ghostship Thank you for the tip! Looks like he's using volumetric textures. Doesn't Poser 11 have volumetric textures?
It doesn't need to be photo realistic, as the clouds are not the main event of the scene, but maybe a little better then this would be nice:
Just a simple 3D fractal textured to a huge torus, with edge blend.
And here's the full scene:
@krios Yes, Superfly is a derivative of Cycles and has most of the same nodes, Volume Scatter included.
@ghostship Thank you, it is good to know.
