Quick way to make an object shadow cast only?
I am wondering if there is a script to do this. With a model containing multiple textures, this can be a real pain.
try unchecking ]visible in camera' leaving 'visible in raytracing' checked
@willyb53 Yeah, that doesn't do it. I guess using a couple primitive blocks is my only really quick option. Not that quick, but anyhow.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of object are we talking?
@eclark1849 Well, it is a general issue, particularly it would be the floor and wall of a building, I am animating and want to save cycles not rerendering static objects and just have them catch the shadow. It doesn't really look like I'm getting the results I need by setting shadow casting on complex models manually anyhow though, so really, it looks like primitives are my best bet, or just take the time to render the scene completely.
