SmithMicro licensing activation ?
I sometimes see "new old stock" of Poser or Moho on Ebay , and I know that Smith Micro has an online activation system now. I favour the standalone model, so could someone tell me which version things changed please ?
If I get Poser 8, is it just a serial number ? What are the latest versions I could go with Poser or Moho without internet ? I only have one machine, but I still prefer offline licensing.
Many thanks for any help.
@Omega-Man Wait for an ambassador to answer you, but AFAIK, you should be fairly safe with anything version below Poser 10. Even 10 should be safe as long as it doesn't include Game Dev. But as I said, at least wait for an ambassador to confirm that.
Here is a list of software that uses the online registration.
Poser 11, Poser Pro 11, Moho 12, MotionArtist, Poser Pro 2014 Game Dev, Anime Studio 11, Anime Studio 10
There are permanent license options for offline systems as well.
You may request permanent activation capability for your license through the Smith Micro Graphics License Manager here: https://pgportal.smithmicro.com/#!/product-licenses
Permanent Activations can not be Reset outside the application.
@shvrdavid, Many thanks to you (and eclark1849) for responding. That helps a lot. I'm not 100% sure the meaning of "Permanent Activations can not be Reset outside the application", but I'll play safe and buy a new version of an older version (if that makes sense !). Thanks again.
