Launching a python script within the library?

  • Thanks to bagginsbill for his recommendation of free app Advanced Shaders (from DAZ), which enables me to save only selected components within a shader. This generates a python script, but how do I now launch a python script in either the pose or material rooms? I remember seeing it done with a product that added dirt or blood maps, but I have no idea how to set it up myself.

  • You create a pz2 file to run the python script:
    {
    version
    {
    number 6
    }
    }
    {
    version
    {
    number 6
    runPythonScript "YourScript.py"
    }
    }
    formating sucks but you should be able to figure it out

  • Ahhh, now I get it. Thanks Willy!

  • @willyb53 if you want to include indented code, the best way is to type three single back-quotes (`), and then paste in the clipboard copied code, before closing with another three back-quotes on a new line, e.g.

    {

    version
    	{
    	number 6//11
    	build 34764
    	}

    	runPythonScript "DoSomething.py"
    }

    since the tab key is swallowed by the forum software to switch context to the next input focus.

  • @anomalaus or weirdly, add an extra tab to the beginning of each line before copying and pasting, but I like your method better
