DSON Importer for Poser. Compatable objects?.

  • I use Poser Pro 11 and Ive recently installed Daz 4.9.
Both programes are linked together via the DSON Importer for Poser.
Everything seems to be working fine.
Anybody know if there is a list of free DSON enabled items that can be installed into Daz and be available in Poser
    eg. clothing/hair/poses/anything.
Mainly for Genesis 1 but also Genesis 2
Did manage to get some freebies from Sharecg.com but hard to find stuff anywere else.
    Thanks for any advice.

  • Have you tried using the FREE - Genesis 3 Poser Updater at Renderosity? https://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/genesis-3-poser-updater/76121 Since you already have DS4.9 and DSON, you have all the Apps you need to convert Daz Genesis 3 Characters, Clothes, Etc for use with Poser 11. There is also a Forum for it - https://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/?thread_id=2899963.

The Free Download comes with very useful Pdf files as to how to convert for use with Poser 11.

  • Here are some of my Conersions of Daz Genesis 3 Characters used in PoserPro 11
    Genesis 3 Male, Genesis 3 Female, Genesis 3 - Kimo 7 and Genesis 3 - Ivan 7.
The Characterm Clothes, Hair, Expresssions, Poses from Daz Studio genesis3 can all be converted for use in Poser 11.

  • Since you are looking at free DSON items, give D3D's DSON Loader script a try. It will load DSON assets that don't have Poser Companion Files. It will even work on complete scenes. It does require DAZ' DSON Importer to be installed.
I've found that most items load fine, although the normals are occasionally reversed, but checking Normals Forward in Render Settings will correct it in renders. Download here:

Thanks for providing info about Daz G3 figure conversion.
I have actually already used this conversion method successfully with a single G3F figure.
The figure loads into my Poser Pro 11 ok and renders ok.
But there are 2 issues with the figure.
    No1.
A small area on the front of the neck [ just above the adams apple] is unfortunately distorted
its pushed inwards and to the right.
Using the Morph tool i managed to correct this fault as it was only a single point that needed
    to be moved.
    No2.
There appears to be a shadow under and to the left of center of the chin.
But this turns out to be another mesh issue.
When i look at the head in "Textures Lined" there seems to be a noticable difference between
the left and right sides of the mesh.
Did make a few attempts to adjust the mesh but have not so far been able to improve this fault.
Because of this G3F issue i lost the incentive to further convert other items mainly clothing.

Never the less im encouraged to convert some other items now having seen the images you posted
    showing G3 items in Poser.
Especially like the character in the last image.

    PS.
Fault on the G3F neck not a big issue if i pose the figure so it does not show.
Have already fitted the G3F with some V4 clothing but obviously be better with
    G3 converted items.

Thanks for link to DSON loader script and the added advice. will certainly look into
this and give it a try.
I already have DAZ' DSON Importer installed.

  • @poserprofan I believe I read that some of that DSON Issue is caused by the latest version of DSON. If you have the Previous version of DSON, try hat one.

Yes, the latest version causes issues with Genesis 2 as well. The last beta version may be in your DAZ Product Library; that's the one I use. Filter on 'Beta' to see if it's there..

I to saw the same advice while searching the issue on google a while back and did try to find
an earlier version of Dson but did not find one.
So thanks for the advice to check "your DAZ Product Library"

Just as a matter of interest i did email Daz Tech support about the lack of Dson support for Daz G3 figures.
They simply said in reply "We are working on it"
So maybe there next version of Dson will resolve the G3 issue. Hope so!.

  • I found a copy of DSON Importer for Poser 1.1.3.50 on my DeskTop System. Haven't tried it yet though.

  • Using Beta as my search, I found DSON Importer for Poser 1.1.3.49, in My Files at Daz3D. It said Inactive next to it. It did download though.

  • 1.1.3.49 was the final beta for the release of 1.1.3.50, and it functions identically. There must not have been any public betas released for 1.2...

  • Checked out my Daz account for "DSON Importer for Poser 1.1.3.49" but not there.
There is only the latest version listed which i aquired in May this year.
Also looked at my downloads page and found this version [Zip file] DSON_Importer_for_Poser_1.1.2.117_Win64.
I don,t think reinstalling this earlier version would be a good idea as things may not work to well with Daz 4.9.
Looks as if were at an impass here with no resolution.
There is only one other option ive not tried yet. Refer to "@wandw " reply a few posts back.
This is a script that loads Daz duf files into poser.
Ill try it out and see what happens.

  • There is no beta version listed? It is a separate product; try filtering on 'Beta'. If it's not there, you might ask Sales Support if they can put it into your account.

The Importer operates completely independently of DS, which doesn't even need to be installed.

D3D's DSON Loader I linked to is a script that calls the Importer.

    Thanks for comments.
Have just sent Daz/tech an email to see if the "DSON Importer for Poser 1.1.3.49" is still available.
Just have to wait and see what the response is.

    Hi again.
Have tried the software you provided a link to------
    http://d3d.sesseler.de/index.php?software=poserpython&product=dson_loader

I found that clothing items and hair items did load into Poser ok although the 2
hair items i tried were only visable when you render them.
I also imported Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 figures and all morphs worked and
    textures showed.
    So far so good.
But when i loaded Genesis 3 it showed with no fault on the front of the neck and
    thought thats great!
    The shaping morphs worked ok
But when i tried to rotate the figures arms/legs etc using the Pose controls very
little happens. No matter which pose control i select the only response i get is the
    shoulder moves slightly.
Tried selecting a pose file and all that happened is the figures mesh became very
    distorted/jagged.
Im dissapointed that the G3 figure still has its problems but otherwise im glad i
have this script installed and will try it on other items ive yet to unzip and install
    into Daz .

    Thanks for the info/links.
Have already used the " Render DAZ Genesis 3 in Poser!!!!!! Now you can-FREE!" software.
With help of a video turorial i managed to get G3F onto my Poser which is great but the G3
figure has a serious mesh distortion at the top front of the neck.
Ive been advised to aquire an earlier version of DSON ["DSON Importer for Poser 1.1.3.49" ] that
may sort the mesh issue out.
Im waiting on a reply from Daz and hopefully they will tell me this earlier version of Dson is
    still available.

Also thanks for letting me know about the Webinar. I assume this Webinar will become part of the list
of Webina,s on the Poser site. Will keep an eye out for it.
