Projects from the Past

So these were made completely in Poser, back in 2005(!) For the life of me I can't remember how it was done and I would like to try it again. Anyone have a clue how it was done? Back than there were several threads about how this was done and the shaders used at RO I think (could have be rdna) but I can't find anything for it. I know it was just common primitives used and somehow manipulated. I don't have the completed scenes but I still have the shaders!

@shadow_fyre It's a torus with extreme displacement.
-
@ghostship I'm pretty sure there is no displacement. it was something about pushing and pulling vertices? But no displacement.
-
@ghostship And it was pretty easy too from what I remember. Just wish I could remember the finer details.
-
@shadow_fyre The only reason I said that is that it looks exactly how extreme displacement looks. This also would be the easiest way to achieve this shape inside poser. Load torus, load displacement map or the tile node and you'd get these results.

@ghostship I don't remember using a displacement map. Somehow points are chosen, and I don't remember it being too difficult to do and dials were moved. It could have been the grouping tool, but to me that seems like it would have been more difficult and back then I didn't know much about the grouping tool.
