V4 Models Black Eyes

  • Have you ever loaded a V4 character model only to have her eyes appear black in preview (but will render correctly). It is hard to pose the facial expressions and as to where the model is looking at when you can't see the eyes.

I recall reading a while back about a simple change in the materials panel but for the life of me can't remember what it is.. Happens in all versions of Poser, but only with a select few models.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Usually this is because the shader is complex and uses nodes plugged into Alternate_Diffuse or elsewhere, not the built-in Diffuse_Color consulted by the preview render engine.

So -- plug the eye texture into Diffuse_Color. As long as Diffuse_Value is 0, this won't alter the outcome in FireFly or SuperFly.

Thank you, that did the trick..
