PAULINE and PAUL - Commercial and Free products that support these figures

  • The second is Oichi Comic Book Heroine Expressions for Poser 11 Pauline. One odd side effect of creating Oichi in the face room was that the upper teeth became disarticulated from the rest of the head, and applying my original comic book heroine expressions left the teeth in zero position for base Pauline. I have created 37 expressions for Oichi and other Pauline-based characters (they work fine on non-Oichi figures). The smiles are less hideous than in my original freebie, so I would use these instead. These are partial poses that use the face controls, not morphs, and I have located them in the poses folder of the library.

  • The Oichi morph. Don't know why but her face reminds me of the older Michael Jackson.

  • Er, I don't know why you think that, either.

  • @shvrdavid Guys, it would be really helpful to have an NSFW label/title on posts like this.

    I'll second that request.

Well, it's especially your render where she takes a kung-fu pose.

I could place my own NSFW bar.

    0_1477263829659_CONTENT ADVISORY.jpg

... but meanwhile it is well known and your boss can spot it from a mile away.

  • @DarthJ Those bars of yours are a nice gesture, but I'm pretty sure you know they are essentially useless.

FWIW, I have a 27" 5k monitor. When the page opens, your whole image is there. But hey look - there's a tiny little yellow "warning" bar up at the top of the image with the tits. Useless.

@Poser-Moderators When @DarthJ added his image, he made the whole thread NSFW. There is no way to know this.

@Poser-Moderators This forum needs the option that other forums have, where an NSFW image is hidden unless clicked upon.

  • I see, it's a matter of size. Americans like everything big and that sort of thing ...

    This better ?

  • @DarthJ Hahaha -- Who are you calling American? :D

Your sarcasm is noted, and I take your point.

The issue isn't really about banner size or with what Americans supposedly stereotypically like. It's about the nudity.

As for me, I quite like breasts and don't have an issue with them, thanks. However, my opinion is that there's a time and a place.

What I'm going to say next is mostly for the @Poser-Moderators.

Maybe there are people on this site who might not want to look at nudity nor have it presented without warning or consent.

Perhaps there are women in this forum who don't want to see women portrayed as overtly sexualized objects without warning or consent. Or men who feel that way, for that matter.

Maybe there are people who would like to be able to view this site and maintain their employment - or don't want to be embarrassed in front of their coworkers when suddenly -- oops -- there's a totally naked person on their screen without warning or consent.

Or maybe it's just disrespectful in someone's opinion to post nudity without warning or consent-- because not everyone's personal standards and tastes are the same.

There are also a few lines in the Terms of Service that management here seems to have perhaps forgotten about. Section 5, FWIW. That's not an accusation, Mods, just a nudge.

@Poser-Moderators Can we please do something about this in light of the terms of service/Rules of Conduct and move the nudies to their own thread or section with a clear NSFW warning?

Or can someone please implement the "hidden till clicked" function?

It seems that a system like that would make the most sense, be the most work-friendly, the most personal taste friendly, and be the most egalitarian.

Then Darth J can post all the happy boobies and naked sunbunnies massaging lotion into each other's derrières he wants to, he won't have to suffer my or anyone else's comments, and nobody will to feel uncomfortable about nudity or have to look at any nudity -- unless of course they want to.

  • @James_in_3D LOL I had the same conversation with him about two months ago and got the same reaction: "Oh, you should not surf the web while you are at work." I work from home so it's no big deal but others might not feel that way. And I AM an American and can tell you that we love the T&A just like the rest of you guys but this forum just doesn't feel like it needs it or is appropriate.

If I'm having a problem with a render/figure/prop/material, do I really need to post a nude? It takes a few extra seconds to conform a top and pants to my character or conveniently render from the neck up.

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else find Pauline rather ugly?
For those who do like her there's lots of stuff left for Pauline at RDNA in the final sale.

  • Yes,t rather ugly, though if you use the Advanced Pauline morphs it gets much better.

Those are actually renders of existing or future freebie poses for figures almost nobody cares to make freebies for..

Such as this one, a WIP about car wash poses. In front V4 whom has too many pose sets already and Pauline Advanced in the back. also considered were Roxie and Miki 2. I guess it will remain a WIP, I wouldn't want anybody get fired.

She's decent if you get a character package for her with good maps and some morphs:

  • Yeah, she's a bit too boxy in the jaw for me, but hey, default V4 is a bit of a horse, and V3 looks like an aged Russian gymnast. None of the default characters are much to look at until you get some decent morph packs, 3rd party sculpts and some decent skins. Ghostship's last post is MUCH better than 99% of the Genesis 3 images I see on the DAZ sites simply because G3 skins look plastic.
I have hope for Pauline (although my hope for Dawn died some time back).
Hopefully Paul gets more love than Michael 4 ever did.

  • @piersyf Just curious... I'm interested to know why your hope for Dawn died some time ago.

I'm just starting to enjoy working with her. :)

If she is lacking anything major, I feel she's lacking decent high quality, hi-def clothes.

All her stuff -- with a few very nice exceptions -- is what a friend of mine calls the "toilet paper tube" variety of Poser clothing that belongs back with V3. Hivewire really needs to be more picky with what they sell or allow to be sold.

    0_1477359907472_android dawn 1.jpg

  • Well if that render is Dawn I might need to take another look. I gave up and stopped looking ages ago because her proportions were stupidly 'heroic' and no matter what anyone did, it still looked like a minor iteration of stock Dawn (kinda like we see with Pauline ATM). I have characters of V4 that you'd be really hard pressed to tell who the base character is unless the actual pose gives it away (her bends).

I agree on the clothes front too, but I think that plays across the board. Have a look at Rob Zhena's post further up, the tight dress... look at the hemline between Pauline's thighs. No skirt does that, it should be a straight line. Not blaming Rob at all, it's a limitation of conforming clothes, but I wish people would pay more attention to the way things actually fit and where they hang from. High res clothing is still rubbish if it bends wrong, hangs wrong, has deformed/stretch textures and couldn't stay on in the real world unless it was glued there or painted on. I suspect this is a reason why we get so much 'hooker wear'. If Poser sped up and refined the cloth room and we got some more hybrid conforming/dynamic clothes options, we could do so much better.

Of course then there's the hair ;-)
