Is there an easy way to use skin textures designed for Firefly in Preview?
I have some skins for M4 and V4 that look metallic in Preview because they're so shiny, but they look natural in Firefly. I'd love to use them in Preview. Is there a simple way to adjust them?
For example, here's Sintari the Elder by MortemVetus in Preview and Firefly:
Maybe turn off the specular light for the time of the edition?
@Y-Phil Apologies, but I'm not following you. Does that mean adjusting the specular for the light in the material room?
I have to say that I have bought a python product to manage easily the lights in a Poser scene so that it's as easy as a right click to turn off a light.
I suspect that in the preview window, the specular light adds a substantial lighting on the scene, and, maybe, that's the source of the exaggerated reflections in the preview window.
If that's the case, you may simply temporarily turn off the specular light and then turn it back before rendering.
I don't have the same problem as I'm using Superfly, which means no specular light.
But when I was using Firefly, it was always with a surrounding sphere (for the IDL to work correctly) and thus my spec. light was rather low.
But of course, I may be wrong.
@Y-Phil Thanks. I'll experiment with this is in a little bit. Out of curiosity, what's the python product you use?
Ha ha.. "I bought it".... ahem my apologies: it's free: http://www.contentparadise.com/productDetails.aspx?id=13663
@Y-Phil Darn. That's included with Poser Pro 11, but it crashes the program. Maybe it's related to the current release being a little buggy.
