Using Bullet Dynamics to simulate running into a wall?
I get the pillows and bouncing balls and jiggling bellies but I really have no idea what it's really intended for, I figured I'd just ask it that was appropriate. Is it possible simulate something running into a wall or solid object when they don't see it? What I'm look for is the impact part, not the bouncing off part. No, nothing brutal, I just want to stop something with magic and want it to squish into the magic.
yes, there was a video I watched the other day on youtube that shows a sold vehicle object running into a wall and bouncing off.
In post #12 I have included images of Andy's head being deformed. Is this the type of effect you are after?
More like how a figure scrunches when it hits the object. Just the soft-tissue. LIke when they show slow-motion of somebody getting punched. The face kind of distorts from pressure. I may also be thinking of cartoons, too. I watched the youtube video so I'll play around with it and see what I can come up with. And there's always the morph brush...
In 2012, I did a demo about running into a wall using a hidden magnet on Renderosity.
Running into a wall
The discussion started, and I demo on page 3 with a ton of screengrabs.
Not a simple trick to follow, but it works. LOL.
