more Superfly shaders
@Dreamer3d here is that thread
@ghostship Yeah I have seen that, not using dynamic hair at all nor do I want to for this :) I need some thing for the model "skin" to get a better fur look
@Dreamer3d what about a variant of my hair shader for transmapped hair?
@ghostship I'll have a go with that and see how it goes, I was playing with your velvet shader last night and that was almost there.
I'll have a play and post some pic's of what I have and what I end up with
@ghostship Ok So I had a play with the hair shader and it might work but at the moment it is way too glossy, poor critter ends up looking like shiny plastic :( and I can't work out how to turn it down.
Here are some images of what I have managed so far.
First up what I have in Firefly just as a jumping off point. This works ok in SF but looses the bump/displacement furryness
This is what I got for SF using EZSkin, not bad but not stunning either, for one the spec/gloss needs tweeking as its blowing out as is
This is what I got from your velvet shader, more or less as is, nice detail on the fur but the rest looks a bit odd
After some tweeking I got this, getting better but still a ways off.
So that is where I am at at this point, every thing is almost there but just missing on some level and I don't know enough about SF shaders to even know where to start pulling things apart. That was how I got my head round FF, pulled stuff apart and put in back together.
@Dreamer3d How shiny/glossy something looks is controlled by the roughness. Usually a roughness of 1 will be non-glossy and a roughness of 0 will be glossy. I set mine to .8 for both the diffuse and anisotropic.
@ghostship ah ok! Now I know where to start tinkering.
For got to say my lighting was done with EZdome and one light and my units are inches.
I'll have a play with the roughness settings and see where we go.
Dang this having to wait 9500 seconds between posts is starting to get on my wick!
@Dreamer3d let me see if I can help fix that.
@ghostship Thanks :)
Got a test render running with your hair shader and will post it when done
I think I might be getting some where.Hair Shader with a little tweeking
