New Poser figure in the making : Initial Feedback request. (NSFW)

    As the title says : Request for feedback on a new Poser figure.

    All will be included, clothes, (loadable in layers) , the hair with morphs, the boots with morphs, (But not the building LOL).

    => The left one is wearing the bikini below the dress.
    A Pullover, pants versions, and Jackets and Coats are in the making.

    => => => Also accepting requests for "usable" every-day-wear-outfits.
    The purpose is to load the clothes in layers as we do in real life. (up to 4 conforming layers worked fine in initial tests.)

    => So? You guys can "dress" and "undress". LOL.

    3Maps so far :

    • 8.192x8.192 full figure Diffuse Color map (Including the boots UV_Map)
    • 4.096x4.096 Grayscale transmap for the lashes and hair
    • 4.096x4096 a single Hair Diffuse Color map

    As you might have guessed by now; LOL, The hair and boots are "standard and included". ( But come with lots of morphs and other tricks)
    This eliminates the ever present "shoe rigging" issue. LOL.

    Still a long way to go, so here an initial feedback request.

    A preview of a tech example :

    See in the very first picture above that the hair seems to follow gravity.
    This is done by building and rigging the head and neck in a special way. => First make a plan, and then build for it. LOL.
    And by grouping the hair in a special way. Object file and rig have to be build with this in mind or you can get the strangest results. LOL.

    In the preview picture below, both heads are turned to the left.
    The front hair on the right head follows the head turning.
    But the hair "stays behind" on the right figure.

    By adapting the twist between neck and head, the end user has full control about what the front hair is gonna do.
    And the best thing is ? => This works in all 3, Twist, Side-Side and Bend and one can completely control how the front hair flows while turning the head.

    PS; In the above picture => The result is best seen on the black-haired sitting figure, and on the standing pink bikini figure.
    Just an example folks, more to come, if you like where this is going here..

    Gravity NOT OK, versus Gravity OK. (This is done by the Side-Side of the neck or the head.)

    The Right figure's hair is the OK one. LOL.
    Simple tricks that add to realism.

    All done in the initial build.
    No extra bones, or morphs or JCM's. => A lean and clean solution.

    Hell, the neck-head-hair is not even weightmapped either.
    There's simply no reason to do so.
    (Yet, who knows what I come up with tomorrow? LOL)

    Oh, in case you are wondring?
    I have 9 full body textures already, but this pale-basic texture is best when testing preview and morphs.
    Sorry for that.

  • May I request an epicanthic fold among the eye morphs, if this is not too much to ask at this stage ( for Asian look ) and if textures are being included, could I request lighter zones for palms and sole of feet for dark-skinned characters . Or have material zones for palms and soles. Cheers.



  • In general I would say that she looks fine. It is difficult to give feedback on a model without using it though. :)

    Funny guys, => One has to get more then 200 "views" on a new Poser figure before some feedback is coming in.

    => For the Asian eyes, I already made an eye/twist as per Lucy Liu.
    => Yes, the light handpalms are already in the textures.
    Here a next demo with some of the morphs used. (more are in the making and most get finetuned every day.)

    Had to compress => File too large. Grrr..... and now all the spec is gone from the cornea's reflection... Just slightly left on the third figure.

    Yes, I am very "hard" on figures. Always have been, and always will be.
    Why?
    I put myself in the shoes of the end-customer.
    The poor "home alone" end user that is struggling and fighting and often wonders: "Why?"
    Why does it have to be so hard? The poor guy that does not have the time or tech to correct all the flaws in existing figures.

    I was wondring if it could be done : Build an error free figure that looks acceptable and usable right out of the box without breaking the bank in add-on buys.

    That's why she"ll come with a FULL wardrobe from day one. > She will be free and usable for everybody from day ONE.

    I"ll also tell what she does NOT HAVE.

    • No extra bones to fight with
    • No JCM's to break your head over
    • No Magnets
    • Few FBM. She is who she is, period. More figures with other BMI will follow depending on how this one goes.
    • The figures shown above do NOT have HD morphs yet. => This is the basic figure "as is". Smoothing ON and SubD level 1 at render time.

    And I will add what she does have:

    • Full symmetry
    • Fully symmetrical UV_Map for all the main body parts.
    • SINGLE MAP => This is , was, and will always stay priority ONE map only. (8.192x8.192)
      I build a "master" file with over 20 layers, (and I add layers almost daily now), and can crank out a fresh texture every nano second.
    • The six "master" head expressions will be present.
    • Facial "character morphs" are in the planning.
    • Integrated hair with tons of morphs
    • Integrated boots with morphs

    The last 2 are a poor mans effort to keep het out of the XXX industry.
    Nothing against nudity, but it must remain artist / nude / civil.

    The "master" object file is also so solid that building single group or FBM has been rock solid these last few weeks. That does not mean the obj file is final yet. => It changes almost daily.

    To get a good figure you only need 3 things.

    • A rock solid obj file. => Properly grouped and welded.
    • A bulletproof rigging. => And ASAP (As Simple As Possible) => The figure uses conventional rigging, weightmapped were required and bulge maps adapted if required. => ALL TOOLS are GOOD tools to avoid JCM's. => I think that's Video5 in the Poser2Blender2Poser series)
    • And a hell of a quality Diffuse texture.

    Once you have those? It's a walk in the park.

    Please let's get some feedback, so we can carry on to include your wishes.

    Oh, and as from this evening, I am using the Physical Surface root in the material room.
    => Less work, better results. (But I am a tech guy, not a render guy. LOL)

    I am sure you can all produce far better renders as I can.

    I really don't get the integrated hair and boots. What is the reasoning for that?



  • I see a lot of limitations caused be integrated boots and hair and prohibiting porn is not one of them. By integrated, I"m assuming you mean attached. How can she wear sandals or flip-flops? That boots and bathing suit look just isn't for me. And boots with a formal dress, no thanks.

    Built in hair inhibits diversity. I have a tendency to do crowd scenes. Unless I'm doing 'invasion of the clones,' that would limit her usefulness. As a "home alone end user" a would get very frustrated very fast with the lack of ability to diversify this figure.
