Hi Marco,
I have a long tutorial on Renderosity from 03/2012 on how to create and walk through long grass.
The grass was grown in the hair room.
Walking through long grass
As shown in detail at the link above, the grass is pure hair room, and the OP at the time asked how to walk through long grass.

Hi Toni, i was not aware of your tutorial. I have to check it out for futher Information. The walk through looks pretty convincing, i would love to use this.
I use the hair room to create carpets for quite a while now, but i could not post it, because of the RULES, you understand?
The last sentence must to be heard in the wispering tone of voice the guy from sesame street does, if he sales an A or a 9 to Ernie.

This is what it should mean: I think, this is happend because it is an outdoor scene.

@marco I really admire your patience here. I would through out my PC from the window I guess lol. I use the hair room frequently for animals, or for some fable character like faun, but a whole meadow, no way I would have the patience.

The truth is, the winner of such contests has nailed the taste of the jury and this is independend of the work or the level of difficulty, the overall tone is important.
Your work is much more original them mine, i choose a very famous scene out of a movie (gladiator) and tryed my best to copy the work someone else.
My secound picture has two famous movie characters and a lot of work from other people in it.
There is the artist that created the building, someone else has done the Batman and Catwomen costumes, all of this Freebies btw.
So, belief me, your can be very proud and your first place is well deserved.
