Adding Transmaps to Cycles Skin.
-
I use Bopper's excellent Cycles plug-in for EZSkin 3, but there is one thing it doesn't do. Transmaps. Specifically for the M4 Gen. I have been working around it by rendering the image with and without the appendage and then photo-shopping them together. But it strikes me, I really need to work out how to properly trans-map the skin. Can anybody advise me on the best way to do this as cycles is still something of a mystery to me.

Add a mix closure node, stick the transmap into the Factor, stick the Transparency shader node into Closure 1 and stick your image map into closure 2. Can you show what your Cycles nodes are, please.

Thanks. These are the nodes from Bopper's Skin texture:

Here is my modifications to the nodes (outlined in Purple) the result seems to be translucent rather than transparent. I have a grey shadow where the transparent parts of the model are.

Set the color chip in the transparent bsdf to white.

@redphantom Aha! Silly me expecting it to work "out of the box." Thanks.

@redphantom Yes - that is the solution
