Shade 3D quietly killed off ? Put it back please.
-
Poser leaving Smith Micro seems to be covering up the death of Shade 3D which was being also sold in the Smith Micro store, but now seems to have been quietly airbrushed out of history by the Poser transfer.
Smith Micro should not have withdrawn Shade 3D. I request it goes back to sale on the site please.

@omega-man I read elsewhere that Shade3D was purchased back in September 2018 by Forum8. Shade3D Acquisition News

@anomalaus
Many thanks. I was aware that Shade moved on, but all versions of 16 seemed to be on the Smith Micro site after that. I was just waiting for the next sale period, but it vanished instead (!). But maybe I misremember. Thanks again.

@omega-man Shade3D was never part of the sale to Smith Micro. E-Frontier kept and developed Shade 3D for itself. As far as I know, Shade 3D ver. 19 is on sale at the site listed in my 3d content Directory. Follow the link and look under Content Creation.

@eclark1849
I found this from the Webarchive, and in my mind's eye Shade 3D was still there more recently too. It was under Poser>Supporting Products>Shade 3D. The advantage there is that Version 16 from Smith Micro seemed to have been a serial number permanent license, but the current Version 19 seems rental only. My own fault for waiting for a sale, and doubly so as I believe I previously missed a 60% off sale and was waiting for a repeat. Doh ! Many thanks anyway. :)

@omega-man Version 19 is moving to both a rental and subscription license. The link listed on my Directory is supposed to be the Official Shade 3D website.
